A country of 1.2 billion individuals, China offers a unique Asian experience to those wishing to visit there.

Inland China

A short flight into the interior of China can take you to the city of Xian, the site of the Terra Cotta warriors. The warriors are life-sized statues unearthed from a Qin tomb. There are thousands of these soldiers placed in several pits that were designed to protect the emperor in the afterlife.

Tourists can see these warriors under cover of huge hangar-like buildings that protect the warriors which sit in situ after having been repaired by archeologists.

Visitors can buy replicas of the various terra cotta warriors as well as the bronze chariots unearthed by Chinese archeologists.

Another inland place to visit are the gorges along the Yangtze River. There are numerous cruise ships that travel down the river, giving wonderful views of the surrounding cities, culminating in a tour of the famous three gorges near the Three Gorges Dam. Cruise ship passengers can take pictures of lovely mountains and cliffs along this portion of the river.

There are other cities to visit in China and tourists can create a tourist package that allows them to see everything that this lovely country has to offer.

From this point, visitors can tour the ancient Forbidden City, one of the most famous sites in the city. Once the home of the Emperor of China, the Forbidden City shares numerous ancient buildings in a maze of passageways for visitors to see how the emperor lived.

Also in Beijing, travelers can drive out to the Great Wall of China and take a sky car up to the wall on the top of the mountainside. Portions of the wall can be seen for many miles; the total length is around 3000 miles. Beijing is also an excellent shopping city with stores both large and small as well as local bazaars.
